Uruguay last team to qualify

Uruguay beat Costa Rica in play offs to qualify as the last (32nd) team for World Cup 2010

In early morning hours on Thursday 19th November (CET) the South American team of Uruguay booked their place for South Africa by winning against Costa Rica.

 

Uruguay struggled to tame Costa Rica  with a 1-1 draw at home in the second leg of their South America/CONCACAF play-off.

 

The Uruguayans went through 2-1 on aggregate after winning the first leg in San Jose on Saturday, returning to the finals in South Africa next year.

Qualification is completed with  13 UEFA teams, 5 CONMEBOL teams, 3 CONCACAF teams, 6 CAF teams, 4 AFC teams and 1 OFC team.
